Ukrainian growers prefer to keep apples in storage in the hope of higher prices
According to Fruit-Inform, Ukrainian growers prefer to keep winter varieties of apples in storage in the hope of better prices. As a result, autumn apples currently account for the largest share in sales.
Growers' prices of apples did not change in Ukraine compared with last week: 0.23-0.55 euro/kg, depending on variety, quality and shipment volume. Furthermore, growers are ready to give discounts to purchasers of large amounts. We would remind you that in the middle of autumn last year apple prices were almost similar to the current price levels.
More detailed information about the Eastern European fruit and vegetable market developments will be presented at the 10th Anniversary International Conference “Fruits & Vegetables of Ukraine-2013”, November 26-28, 2013, International Exhibition Center, Kiev, Ukraine.
