Ukrainian potato and vegetable prices ones of the highest in Europe

Prices of potatoes and vegetables in Ukraine remain ones of the highest in Europe, according to Fruit-Inform.

For the present, Ukrainian growers ship onions at prices averagely 41% higher than in Poland. In addition, prices in Ukraine are twice of those offered by farmers in Russia, the country which usually is the largest importer of Ukrainian onions. Onion prices in the Netherlands are half of those in Ukraine.

The difference between carrot prices is rather large too. For the present, Ukrainian growers offer carrots at prices 10% higher than in Russia and 50% higher than in Poland. Furthermore, prices of Ukrainian carrots are averagely 2.3 times of those fixed in the Netherlands.

Potatoes in Ukraine are 17% more expensive than in the Russian Federation and 55% higher in price than in Poland. Prices of Dutch potatoes are half of those quoted in Ukraine.

Russian table beets are 17% less expensive than Ukrainian ones, and prices in Poland are 10% lower than in Ukraine.

White cabbage is the only vegetable category, which is lower in price in Ukraine. White cabbage prices quoted by Ukrainian farmers are 8% lower than in Russia and 11% lower than in Poland.
