Russia leads in global apple imports
Russia is the global leader in apple imports, according to the international experts' data.
The Russian Federation accounted for the share of 15% in the global apple market in the season 2012/13. Germany ranked second with the share of 6%. The UK was the third largest importer and also accounted for about 6%.
Those countries were followed by the Netherlands (4%), Mexico (3%), Egypt (3%), Canada (3%), France (2%) and India (2%).
We would remind you that Russia imported 1.34 mln tons of apples in the season 2012/13, an increase of 10% year-on-year.
