Ukraine: prices of apples for processing fall below 2012 levels

For the first time in the season 2013/14, prices of apples for processing in Ukraine have fallen below 2012/13 levels and are currently 17% lower year-on-year.

A decrease in prices is connected with processing factories' moderate demand in view of problems with sales of end products (apple juice concentrate in particular).

For comparison, prices of raw apples varied between 0.09-0.13 euro/kg in the same period of 2012; current price levels are fixed at 0.07-0.11 euro/kg.
