Higher demand for export-quality pears in Poland
The demand for export-quality pears has gone up in Poland. Nevertheless, growers do not hurry with sales in the hope of higher prices in future.
Exporters are especially interested in Conference and Lukas varieties.
For the present, purchase prices of Conference pears vary between 0.43-0.47 euro/kg (size 55+) and 0.47-0.52 euro/kg (size 60+). High-quality pears of size 65+ can be sold even at 0.59 euro/kg.
Lukas pears are shipped at 0.40-0.45 euro/kg (size 60+), 0.43-0.50 euro/kg (size 65+), and 0.47-0.57 euro/kg (size 70+).
