Poland: Savoy cabbage prices may grow despite low exports
The Polish market participants say of Savoy cabbage prices being stable since December.
Current wholesale prices vary between 0.21-0.28 euro/kg. Minimum prices offered by growers stand at 0.14 euro/kg.
Positive price performance was registered in the Polish market in the same period of the previous season. Prices have grown from 0.16 euro/kg to 0.31 euro/kg by the end of January 2013. Last year's growth of prices was buoyed by an increase in demand connected with active exports.
Despite low exports in the current season, the Polish market participants believe that prices of Savoy cabbage may grow this year too in view of a seasonal decrease in supply of high-quality produce.
