Russia: record high imports of Chinese AJC in December

Russian importers purchased 10,700 tons of Chinese apple juice concentrate (AJC) in December 2013, 628 times of imports in the same month of the previous year and the highest result over the past 10 years.

Fruit-Inform experts connect such a sharp increase in AJC imports from China with abolishment of import duties on AJC after the decision taken by Eurasian Economic Commission and entered into force on December 1, 2013.

Russia's total AJC imports in December 2013 amounted to 14,800 tons, the share of 28% in total imports over the first 6 months of the season 2013/14.
