Russia's imports of Afghan raisins up
Russia has increased imports of raisins from Afghanistan in the season 2013/14.
In particular, Afghanistan shipped slightly more than 4,000 tons of raisins to Russia in July-December 2013, an increase of 8% compared with the same period of the previous season. For comparison, Russia's imports in July-December 2012 reached just 3,800 tons, the lowest result over the past 5 years.
It should also be noted that Afghanistan has been the second largest exporter of raisins to the Russian Federation for the fourth season in a row. Chile is the leader in the current season.
