Russia: record high imports of grape juice in January
Russia's imports of grape juice in January 2014 were the highest over the past 5 years. Despite that, cumulative imports over the first 7 months of the current season were lower year-on-year.
Russian importers purchased 1,400 tons of grape juice in January this year, an increase of 40% compared with the same month of 2013, when imports had totaled just slightly more than 1,000 tons.
However, imports over July 2013 – January 2014 amounted only to 8,000 tons, a decrease of 20% compared with the same period of the previous season, when imports had been record high.
Spain, Argentina and Iran were the largest exporters of grape juice to Russia in the first 7 months of the season 2013/14.
