Ukraine: almost no fresh produce shipments from Crimea

Growers from Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine) almost stopped shipping fruits and vegetables to other Ukrainian regions, according to Fruit-Inform.

They say of almost no demand for their produce in other regions due to instability on the peninsula. For the present, fruits and vegetables are shipped out of Crimea only in contracted volumes. Local trade is rather stagnant too.

Farmers also connect a decrease in sales rates with Ukrainian hryvnia devaluation, which led to lower consumption activity in the country.

In view of that, Crimean growers do not revise their prices and hope that the situation in Crimea would stabilize in the nearest time.
