Poland: prices of domestic carrots under pressure of imports
Polish farmers do not revise selling prices of carrots due to high competition with imported produce in Poland.
In addition, the demand for carrots is rather moderate both in the internal market and outside of the country.
Wholesale prices of domestic high-quality carrots vary between 0.15-0.21 euro/kg. Minimum prices of carrots of Dutch origin stand at 0.16 euro/kg.
Polish importers have also started purchasing early carrots of Italian origin, which prices average 3.57 euro per 15 bunches (500 grams each).
