Serbia's apple exports to Russia up

Serbia significantly increased apple exports to the Russian Federation in January 2014, according to the official statistics.

Serbian exporters sold 12,000 tons apples to Russia, 2.7 times as high as in the same month of the previous year. In such a way, Serbia was ahead of Moldova, which exports stood at just 9,500 tons.

Serbia's cumulative exports of apples to the Russian Federation over July 2013 – January 2014 totaled 68,000 tons, 2.5 times as high as in the same period of the previous season. In such a way, Serbia was the third largest exporter of apples to Russia with only Poland and Moldova exporting more. We would remind you that Serbia ranked just sixth in apple exports to the Russian Federation in the season 2012/13.
