Polish strawberry season starts

According to FreshMarket, the strawberry season has started in Poland with the domestic supply still limited that enables to sell berries at high prices.

For the present, high-quality strawberries are offered at 5.00-5.60 euro/kg, and produce of lower quality is shipped at 2.80-3.40 euro/kg.

At the same time, Polish growers say of sunny and warm weather now that favors rapid ripening of berries, therefore the supply may sharply grow in the nearest time and impact prices.

Meanwhile, according to Fruit-Inform, strawberry prices in Ukraine are significantly lower: Ukrainian farms offer strawberries at UAH 20-35/kg (EUR 1.21-2.11/kg). The supply in Ukraine is also limited due to cold and cloudy weather.
