A decrease in apple production expected in Poland
According to Ministry of Agriculture of Poland, apple production in the country in the season 2014/15 is expected to decrease compared with the previous year.
This year Polish growers are forecast to harvest just 2.6 mln tons of apples, a decrease of 20% year-on-year. Lower production is connected with unfavorable weather conditions in spring.
We would remind you that Polish apple production totaled 3.12 mln tons in the season 2013/14, an increase of 9% year-on-year and the highest result over the past 10 seasons. Poland is the leading producer of apples in the EU and the fourth largest producer in the world with only China, USA and Turkey growing more.
We would remind you that more detailed information about the Eastern European apple market developments and outlook will be presented at the 4th International Conference “Apple Business of Ukraine-2014”. The conference will be held on August 14-15, 2014, Feride Plaza, Vinnytsia, Ukraine. More detailed information about the event is available on the official web-site.
