Russia: growers from Belgorod Oblast start apple campaign
The market participants from Belgorod Oblast, Russia, say of the start of the new apple campaign in the region. The supply of early apples is limited now, and prices did not change compared with the same period of the previous year.
For the present, Belyi Naliv and Ranneye Krasnoye varieties are sold at RUB 20-25 (USD 0.56-0.70/kg), and Quinti and Early Geneva apples are offered at RUB 30/kg (USD 0.85/kg) and higher.
It should be noted that this year the season has started almost a week earlier, and growers' expectations of quality and production volumes are rather positive.
