Apricot sales start at Ukrainian wholesale markets

Apricot sales have started at Ukrainian wholesale markets, according to Fruit-Inform daily price monitoring.

For the present, apricots are shipped in small volumes at prices, which are significantly higher year-on-year.

Current prices vary between UAH 38-42/kg (EUR 1.52-1.68/kg), depending on quality, at Dubovo Wholesale Market, Khmelnytskyi, averagely twice as high as in the same period of the previous season.

Apricot prices have also doubled year-on-year at Shuvar Wholesale Market, Lviv, and now sellers are ready to ship at UAH 49/kg (EUR 1.96/kg).

Apricots are offered at UAH 30/kg (EUR 1.20/kg) at Ozerka Wholesale Market, Dnipropetrovsk, an increase of 20% compared with a year before.

The highest prices are quoted at Stolychnyi Wholesale Market, Kiev: apricots are sold at UAH 55-60/kg (EUR 2.20-2.40/kg) there, an increase of 70-120% year-on-year.

Fruit-Inform analysts expect apricot prices to be significantly higher in Ukraine in the current season in view of a considerable fall in apricot production due to unfavorable weather conditions. As we have previously informed, a fall in production is also expected to be registered in the segments of other stonefruits and grapes.
