Prices of early apples down in Russia

Prices of early apples have gone down by 20% due to the supply growing more rapidly than the demand for early produce. Moreover, growing supply of Belyi Naliv variety should also be noted, while a week before Early Geneva apples accounted for the largest share in sales.

In general, the price performance is similar to last year; however, prices in the RUB equivalent have doubled year-on-year. Current prices of early apples average RUB 40-50/kg (USD 0.69-0.87/kg) in Russia against RUB 25-30/kg (USD 0.72-0.86/kg) a year ago.

We would remind you that more detailed information about the Eastern European apple market developments will be presented at the 5th International Conference «Apple Business of Ukraine-2015», which is going to take place on August 13-14, Kleopatra Hotel, Kamyanets-Podilskyi, Ukraine.
