Ukraine: apple prices at least double over a season
Apple prices in Ukraine reach their low in October and peak in May. As a rule, prices almost double over that period, as it is shown by the price analysis over the past 5 seasons. Average minimum price of apples amounted to UAH 4/kg (EUR 0.16/kg) in 2010-2014, while its maximum level stood at UAH 8-9/kg (EUR 0.33-0.37/kg).
Prices are relatively stable from September to November and start rapidly growing in December. The most intensive price growth rates are registered in February-May, when imported produce accounts for the largest share in supply.
The season 2014/15 was characterized by record rapid price growth rates, as apples had become almost 200% more expensive in the period from October 2014 to May 2015. The lowest price growth rates were registered in the season 2013/14, when apple prices had increased just by 85%.
We would remind you that more detailed information about the Ukrainian apple market developments will be presented at the 5th International Conference «Apple Business of Ukraine-2015», which is going to take place on August 13-14, Kleopatra Hotel, Kamyanets-Podilskyi, Ukraine.
