Poland: pear prices up year-on-year
Despite a seasonal decrease in pear prices in Poland, pears are still 15% more expensive year-on-year.
Now prices are not lower than 0.41 euro/kg against 1.50-1.70 euro/kg a year before. Moreover, prices of large sized produce often reach 0.48 euro/kg.
The market participants connect a year-on-year rise in prices with Polish exporters' high demand for pears. In addition, the internal market sales rates also are rather high. As a result, growers are able to maintain prices at the previous levels despite a seasonal increase in pear supply in the country.
