Poland to increase production of Jonagored apples in 2015
Poland has been rapidly increasing production of Jonagored apples.
According to WAPA estimations, Polish growers will most likely harvest about 280,000 tons of those apples in 2015, an increase of 22% compared with a year before, when production had totaled 230,000 tons.
At the same time, despite a steady increase in Jonagored apple production in Poland over the past few years, the share of those apples in total apple production remains small: only 8% in 2015. Idared is a traditionally leading variety with the share of about 20%.
