Polish apple stocks as of July twice as high as last year
Polish apple stocks as of July 01, 2016, were twice as high as registered in the same period of the previous season, according to WAPA. Moreover, the sector experts also say that stocks were the highest over at least 10 past years.
Record high stocks are connected with low apple sales rates in the Polish market. However, it should be noted that apple stocks went down by 62% over June 2016.
As of July 01, 2016, Polish apple stocks totaled 59,000 tons against just 30,000 tons a year before.
For the present, the demand for apples is rather moderate in the Polish internal market and externally. Furthermore, many farms have already started shipping early varieties of apples, and this fact also aggravates the situation in the market for last year’s apples.
