Cabbage prices are 35-45% lower than in the previous year in the most regions of Ukraine
The results of wholesale and retail prices monitoring conducted by Agricultural Marketing Project witness that prices for white headed cabbage continue to go down under the pressure of further supplies on market of the late varieties of this commodity. At present moment retail prices crushed down to USD $ 0.06-0.08/kg in the western region of Ukraine; this price corresponds to the wholesale price level in the central region of the country. However, AMP analysts point out that despite of the total cabbage production decrease comparing with the previous year the price on the commodity is 35-45% lower than in autumn 2003. At the same time they think that further cabbage price decrease is quite possible.
