The volume of Ukrainian fruit and vegetable market is USD $ 1.8 billion - experts say
According to the evaluation carried out by Agricultural Marketing Project specialists, the volume of Ukrainian fruit and vegetable market subject to sales price of producers is about USD $ 1.8 billion that approximately corresponds to the grain market volume. Meanwhile the grain market merchantability level is much higher that proves the potential of fruit and vegetable market development in the nearest future. If we compare these two markets subject to retail prices taking into consideration the processed commodities, the fruit and vegetable market has a much more greater volume comparing to the market of grain and its processed commodities.
The details of state and perspectives of fruit and vegetable market development in Ukraine will be presented by Andriy Yarmak, Deputy Director of Agricultural Marketing Project during the First international conference "Vegetables and Fruits of Ukraine: the Market of New Alternatives" to be held in Kyiv on November 2nd-3rd, 2004, for about 200 companies from 13 world countries.
