State of winter crops in Ukraine is good and fair - scientists
As of today, the condition of winter crops in Ukraine can be assessed as good and fair, the First Vice President of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences Viktor Sytnyk said on November 5.
He said the prolonged warm conditions were causing some concerns of the scientists and could affect the state of winter crops negatively in the further run. However, he said, if the warm weather stays around for not more than 10 or 14 days, the winter crops will have enough time to pass through the necessary pre-winter hardening process and will acquire proper frost-resistance.
