Prices on citrus fruits are decreasing in the majority of the regions of Ukraine

As market players inform, citrus fruits (particularly bananas, oranges and lemons) cheapened past week in the majority of the regions of Ukraine. One of the reasons for price decrease is the extension of orange supplies from Egypt; Egyptian oranges are traditionally significantly cheaper than Turkish. Price decrease on bananas, most probably, is caused by demand decrease on this commodity; recently a sufficiently active demand on apples is observed on Ukrainian markets.

During the past week, according to Agricultural Marketing Project information, an average retail price on bananas decreased on 7% and on oranges - on 6%.

Market players consider the trend of price decrease on tropical fruits to be preserved during the nearest few weeks.
