Ukrainian groats production in January
In January 2005 Ukrainian enterprises decreased volumes of groats production as a response to seasonal factors. According to State Statistics Committee, last month Ukraine produced 17,800 tonnes of groats, which is 42 percent down from December. But 5 percent production increase is seen in comparison to January 2004.
The volume of carryover stocks of groats at the end of January increased by 55 percent (compared to the end of December) to 6,400 tonnes.
Total production of groats for 7 months of 2004/05 MY (July-January) in Ukraine amounted 157,100 tonnes, which is 7 percent (10,100 tonnes) ip from the same period last season.
