Range of cabbage prices remains significant on the market of Ukraine
The numerous messages about the cabbage price growth on Ukrainian market, as it often happens, led to the more dramatic price growth on this commodity. Moreover, it pulled up the prices on the other fruits and vegetables.
This week the quantity of cabbage supplies from the producers on the high price increased a little. Moreover, on the basis of the information about the cabbage price jump, many producers decided to increase price in в 1.5-2.0 times, so the cabbage price sometimes reached USD $ 0.33-0.38/kg; however such supplies were very rare. In principle, the main high-quality cabbage supplies are sold in the central region of Ukraine on about USD $ 0.18/kg, according to the estimation of Agricultural Marketing Project.
The analysts of Agricultural Marketing Project mention that the cabbage reserves on the Ukrainian market continue decreasing, still they remain sufficiently great to satisfy the population demand till the moment the first large supplies of early cabbage appear on market.
We should note that price growth on cabbage in fact has pulled up the prices on potato and onion; the reserves of these commodities also remain at least sufficient.
