Odesa oblast farmers began planting vegetables in the open ground ten days earlier than in 2004

The Odesa oblast producers have started planting bulb onion and carrot in the open ground this week. It was reported by Dmitriy Chernyak, Market Information Specialist, Odesa office of Agricultural Marketing Project.

The meteorologists forecast that the time of low temperatures is not over. Despite of this fact the farmers think that the soil is well moistened now after the abundant falls of the pervious month and it is a favorable factor to be used for sure. To the opinion of the farmers, this way they can count on the higher yield of the vegetable production.

So we can say that the vegetable planting in the open ground started ten days earlier this year comparing to the pervious 2004 year in Odesa oblast. If there are no problems in the period of vegetation, we can expect the earlier harvest of onion and carrot.
