Bulb onion can be bought in Poland on three times lesser price than in Ukraine
Agricultural Marketing Project carries out the monitoring of wholesale prices on fruit and vegetable commodities; its results show that prices on bulb onion in Ukraine remain relatively high. At the present moment the wholesale supplies of this commodity are offered on USD $ 0.26-0.38/kg. For example, today the wholesale price on bulb onion amounted to USD $ 0.38/kg on Lviv "Shuvar" market, USD $ 0.32 in Kyiv and USD $ 0.28 in Kherson.
At the same time, in Poland farmers are ready to sell this commodity on price starting from USD $ 0.06/kg that is 5 times and lesser than on the Ukrainian market. We'd note that despite of such low prices the overproduction of bulb onion is still observed on Polish market, especially taking into consideration green onion of new harvest that has recently appeared on market.
