The excessive supply of white cabbage of past year harvest may lead to the price decrease in Kyiv
Today on the wholesale fruit and vegetable market "Farmer", located in the housing estate "Troyeshchina", the excessive supply of the cabbage of 2004 harvest was observed. It was reported by Alexander Skrebets, the Price Monitoring Specialist of Agricultural Marketing Project, who visited the market in the morning.
Despite of the obviously excessive supply, the vendors did not hurry to decrease the price on cabbage, but as soon as tomorrow the price drop on this commodity is possible, cause the demand on early cabbage (which was also in excess) prevailed significantly over the demand on the cabbage of past year harvest.
According to the evaluations of the analysts of Agricultural Marketing Project, if we take into account the price trend on market, the prices on early cabbage will decrease in the nearest 1-2 weeks to the level of USD $ 0.59/kg, so it can be very problematic to sell the cabbage of past year harvest.
