Early sweet cherry is already being sold on the Ukrainian markets
According to the incoming information from the regions of Ukraine, early sweet cherry is already offered for sale on the country markets. To this moment the supply of this commodity is modest, and the prices are fluctuating within USD $ 1.58-2.17/kg. We'd remind that past year first sweet cherry supplies also took place in the last decade of May, and the prices were on the same level.
As the specialists expect, this year the sweet cherry harvest should be rich enough, as the weather conditions were favorable to this perennial crop.
AMP information. According to the data of the official statistics, in 2004 in Ukraine 85,000 tons of sweet cherry were produced; the specialists consider this figure to be much larger in the reality. The leaders of sweet cherry production are Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya and Odesa oblasts.
