The price on early potato goes down in Ukraine, creating the exporting business opportunities

According to the information provided by Alexander Skrebets, the Price Monitoring Specialist of Agricultural Marketing Project, the prices on early (young) potato continue decreasing rather dynamically in Ukraine. Today on Kyiv market "Farmer" the wholesale price on the commodity decreased on another USD $ 0.1/kg and amounted to USD $ 0.79/kg. The lowest price level was about USD $ 0.69/kg. Yesterday on "Kopani" market, Kherson oblast, the major sets of early potato were sold on USD $ 0.65-0.69/kg.

The price decrease on early potato down to such a low level creates some rather good opportunities for export of this commodity to Russia and other countries, if the needed quality of the commodity is provided. For example, on the wholesale market "Bronishe" in Warsaw the average price on early potato is about USD $ 1.5/kg today, that is nearly twice higher than the average wholesale price on this commodity in Kyiv. As it is known, Poland is one of the largest fruit and vegetable suppliers in Europe, and one of the main competitors for Ukraine on the Russian market.
