Ukraine is planning to produce up to 2 mln t of rapeseed by 2008
Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine together with Industrial Policy and Energy Ministries is planning to elaborate till September 1 this year a Complex State Program for biodiesel production for the period up to 2010. This document should cover creation of rapeseed production areas in Ukraine, guarantees to produce up to 2 million tonnes of rapeseed by 2008 and construction of processing plants.
According to State Statistics Committee, Ukraine produced 148,880 tonnes of rapeseed in 2004 vs. 50,900 tonnes in 2003.
