Bulk delivery of Kherson vegetables resulted in price drop on vegetable commodities in Crimea
According to the information provided by Alexander Lekhno, the Market Information Specialist of Crimea office, Agricultural Marketing Project, the beginning of the rapid seasonal decrease of the wholesale prices on fruit and vegetable commodities is perceived today in Simferopol. As a reason for it the market players consider to be bulk supplies of vegetables from Kherson oblast.
In Simferopol the wholesale price on squash has gone today down to USD $ 0.11/kg, on early white cabbage - USD $ 0.16/kg, on red beets - USD $ 0.89/kg. In the nearest weeks the trend of price decrease on fruits and vegetables will be preserved, to the opinion of market players.
Crimean farmers also report that the ripening of early peach varieties will start in 2-3 weeks, so in the beginning of July we can look forward the first fruit supplies of Ukrainian origin on local and metropolitan markets.
