During weekend cucumber cheapened twice
The price on cucumber has decreased nearly twice since Friday, according to the results of wholesale price monitoring conducted daily on fruit and vegetable markets of Ukraine by the Agricultural Marketing Project (AMP). In the end of past week the price on cucumber fluctuated within USD $ 0.75-0.89/kg, today this commodity costs USD $ 0.39-0.55/kg on the wholesale market "Farmer", Kyiv. The wholesale price on cucumber decreased in the other regions too. In particular, on "Kopani" market, Kherson oblast the price on cucumber went down from USD $ 0.59-0.79/kg to 0.29-0.35/kg.
The specialists say that this price decrease is logical, as it is caused by the bulk supply of field cucumber on Ukrainian markets. This commodity is mainly supplied form the southern regions.
