The rapid increase of pepper supply led to the price drop down to USD 0.16/kg

Roman Rybalko, the Wholesale Price Monitoring Specialist of the Agricultural Marketing Project informed about the significant growth of pepper supply on Kopani market, Kherson oblast. The price dropped nearly twice. On Friday pepper is sold on USD 0.16-0.24/kg; but on Thursday morning the average price on this commodity was USD 0.4/kg, and in the beginning of week - USD 0.46/kg! The specialist explains the supply increase by the mass harvesting of field pepper.

We'll note that the same price decrease has not happened yet in the other regions, though the prices went down noticeably. So, in Kyiv the today's average price on pepper is USD 0.4-0.5/kg, comparing to USD 0.6-0.7/kg in the beginning of week. In Lviv pepper costs even more - USD 0.6/kg.

The price decrease on pepper on the South of Ukraine will obviously result in price decrease in Kyiv soon. As a rule, the prices in Kyiv and on the South of Ukraine are getting balanced during 1-2 days.
