The supplies of the newly harvested apples from Vinnitsa caused the price decrease in AR Crimea

In Crimea the demand on newly harvested apples is increasing together with the supply growth, accompanied by the price decrease. The apples of early varieties of the local production are offered in bulk not cheaper than USD 0.4/kg.

However, this week first large volumes of early apples started to be supplied from Vinnitsa on the considerably lower prices, according to the information provided by Alexander Lekhno, the Market Information Specialist of Crimean office, Agricultural Marketing Project. The most expensive apples supplied from Vinnitsa to Simferopol can be bought on USD 0.26/kg.

The Agricultural Marketing Project specialists prognosed earlier that the apple production would be approximately on the same level than a year ago. At the same time, the favorable weather conditions of this year may lead to some production increase, despite of the further contraction of the orchard acreage in Ukraine. The demand will grow on the higher rates; this fact may ensure a relatively high price on apples this season.
