"Russia will forget about bird flu issue in two weeks" - Russia's ag. minister
"In a two-week term the bird flu topic in Russia will be completely closed and forgotten", such a consoling declaration was made by Russia's Agriculture Minister Aleksey Gordeyev in a meeting with media in the Republic of Chuvashia Friday.
According to the minister, at the current moment in Russia there are 6 settlements in which the cases of bird flu disease have been officially confirmed. Totally since the moment of the disease outburst in Russia, there have been registered 55 suspicious settlements.
Gordeyev said that up to this moment the bird flu had in now way affected the commercial production and posed no threat to the human health.
"All the infection nidi are being localised in a due time", he said.
