Small wholesale potato sets are sold on USD 0.43/kg in Zakarpattya
Spreading information about potato deficit makes the demand on this product grow. Population stokes potato more actively that makes the situation even worse. Lyudmila Dzjamko, the Market Information Specialist of Zakarpattya office, Agricultural Marketing Project (AMP) reports that a few tons potato set can be purchased on USD 0.43/kg; it is very hard to find large wholesale volumes of this product. The price is growing daily on USD 0.02/kg in average; past week it increased 30%. Potato of Lviv, Rivne, and Volyn oblasts' origin is mostly sold now on market. The main suppliers are private entrepreneurs who transport potato sets of 5-10 tons.
The specialist points out that potato price is USD 0.33/kg on wholesale market SHUVAR in Lviv; the price difference is USD 0.1/kg between the neighboring regions.
