The development project for fruit and berry sector in Vinnitsa oblast was presented on November 17th, 2005, according to the information provided by the Press department of Vinnitsa State Administration.
As known, this Project is implemented by the International Financial Corporation (IFC) in cooperation with the Austrian Ministry of Economics and Labor, and the Ministry of Finance.
The Project objective is to extend and simplify the producers' access to sales markets, as well as to provide the sustainable development of fruit and berry production in Vinnitsa oblast.
The strategic goal of the Project is to introduce a new farmer status as strong, independent, well-informed and reliable business partner, who is able to maintain long-term business relations in accordance with the international quality standards for agribusiness.
As it is informed, Vinnitsa oblast has been chosen as the Project's target, first of all, due to the favorable weather conditions and soils in the region; plus, a huge fruit and berry processing enterprise Podillya-OBST is also located here.
