Frosts have not practically injured apple orchards in Zakarpattya

According to the information provided to "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly journal by the specialists of Zakarpattya office, Agricultural Marketing Project, due to warmer average temperatures the local farmers were able to conduct an analysis of fruit tree losses after January frosts. The information available sounds optimistic, apple trees have not practically suffered from frosts. It means that apple yield will not decrease much compared to the previous year in the region.

We'll remind that Zakarpattya is the second largest apple supplier on Ukrainian market after Vinnitsa oblast. The local farmers supply relatively inexpensive and quality apples to fresh markets and provide the processors with the raw materials for apple concentrate.
