Banana and apple prices are declining, orange and lemon prices are increasing

According to the information provided by the price monitoring service of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, the price decrease for bananas and apples and the price growth for oranges and lemons have been observed during seven recent days in Ukraine.

In particular, the prices for all apple varieties have decreased 4% in average on Kyiv wholesale market this week (compared to the prices recorded past Monday 04/03/2006). The prices for Jonagold apple variety have decreased 9%, the most significantly. The market players explain this fact by the increased apple supplies to Ukraine before the termination of the seasonal import taxes since April the 1st.

Banana prices have decreased 6% in average during this week, as the regular supplies of this product were adjusted. Today's banana price is $0.98-1.07/kg on Kyiv wholesale market. At the same time the wholesale prices for oranges and lemons have grown significantly, in average 35% and 28% respectively.
