In 2006 pear production in the EU-25 will remain on the past year level
According to information of Prognosfruit, referred to by eBronisze.pl, pear production in the EU-25 will not change significantly; it will stay on the same level of 2.5 mln. tons comparing to the previous year. The largest growth of pear production is forecasted to take place in Great Britain (+25% comparing to 2005), Germany and Portugal (+15%), Belgium (+13%) and France (+5%).
At the same time, the most significant reduction of pear production is expected in Poland (- 15%) and Spain (- 12%). According to the analysts' forecasts, pear production in Poland in 2006 will be 55,000 tons.
