The wholesale prices for dill and parsley are decreasing in Ukraine
According to data of the price monitoring of the Agricultural Marketing Project, the decrease of average wholesale prices for fresh herbs, parsley and dill in particular has been observed in recent weeks on the markets of Ukraine. To the analysts' opinion, this trend is predetermined by the seasonal supply growth of these commodities on market.
An average wholesale price for parsley has decreased one third, and for dill - more than 50% in average during the recent month on Kyiv wholesale market. These commodities cost now $1.27-1.37/kg on FARMER wholesale market. It is worth to point out that the wholesale prices for fresh herbs are quite lower on Polish wholesale market BRONISZE near Warsaw. In particular, the buyers pay $0.74-0.96/kg for parsley there.
Georgia is a traditional fresh herbs supplier on Ukrainian market off-season; the production of these commodities is developing quite dynamically there. Several Georgian companies plan to actively participate in the third international conference "Fruits and Vegetables of Ukraine 2006. Open Market". And, Georgian suppliers of fresh herbs want to participate in the exhibition as well, together with the other companies from 15 countries on December 5th-6th 2006 in Kyiv.
