Prices for green onion started to decrease in Moscow oblast

The specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" informed that the prices for green onion continued decreasing this week in Moscow oblast. The market players said that the large shipments of green onion cost around $ 0.93-1.5/kg one week ago. At the present moment wholesale companies offer onion for the price up to $0.56-0.75/kg; despite of this fact, the trade process is not active.

The specialists explained this circumstance by a general oversupply of green onion on Russian market. At the present moment national greenhouse complexes are actively selling onion. Imported produce enters markets as well; green onion is mostly supplied by Uzbekistan to Russia. Estimating the market which is generally saturated with fresh herbs supplies this year, the vendors admit the further price decrease in this segment.
