Russia: the prices for quality cabbage are rapidly growing

According to information provided by the experts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, the prices for quality cabbage are rapidly growing in the Russian Federation. The produce of medium quality is mainly supplied on market; at the same time, market is not able to satisfy the demand for quality cabbage from the side of the wholesale companies and supermarkets. This fact stimulates the price increase in the given segment.

This situation mostly characterizes Moscow, Leningrad and Sverdlovsk oblasts; the sales prices for quality cabbage vary $0.24/kg to $0.3/kg there. The prices ranged $0.2-0.26/kg one week ago.

According to the specialist's forecasts, the prices will continue growing in line with the reduction of the cabbage stocks in the farms.
