Tomato prices differ much because of the irregular product supplies in the regions of Ukraine

According to information provided by the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal with the reference to the market players, the supplies of the tomatoes of Turkish and Spanish origin to Ukraine are performed in the non-uniform manner at the present moment.

As of today, the importers are interested first of all in the sales of the large shipments: that's why they prefer working with the wholesale buyers from the large cities.

In this regard, the price trends differ much on the regions of various regions.

For example, the vendors had to significantly decline the sales prices for tomatoes because of the oversupply of this product on "Troyeschina" market in Kyiv. The prices are $ 1.8-1.9/kg today. At the same time, the opposite situation is observed on the markets of western regions. The supplies of the imported tomatoes are irregular; this fact provoked the price increase up to $3-3.4/kg for the wholesale shipments on the background of the steadily high demand.

According to information provided by the market players, the national greenhouse complexes plan to start selling tomato not earlier than in the first half of March.
