Ukraine: the prices for apple concentrate continue increasing

Ukrainian juice producers are anxious about the further price growth for the apple concentrate. As of today, the concentrate is offered for sale for EUR1,100-1,150/ton excluding VAT on the inner market. Many processors are not ready to afford this price. If the price goes on increasing, the enterprises admit the possibility to reconsider upwards the sales prices for the ready products. But, even now it is hard to tell that the sales process is active this season.

However, not all market specialists agree to these forecasts; they think that the high prices for the apple concentrate can be easily compensated by the cheap sugar this season. Past season the enterprises reduced the purchase price for sugar from EUR436/ton down to EUR331/ton; the trend of the price decrease for sugar is preserved.
