As of today, the trend of the price growth for Pekinese cabbage is in place in Ukraine. The specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal point out that the prices for Pekinese cabbage are growing in most regions of the country. The majority of the market players agree that the prices for this product will further increase.

Since the previous week the prices for Pekinese cabbage have increased 24% in the central oblasts, 28% in the eastern oblasts, 45% in the western oblasts. To compare, please consider the price for Pekinese cabbage in Poland, which has increased 38% during the same period of time. This circumstance is of a great importance for Ukrainian market cause most part of the supplied Pekinese cabbage is of a foreign origin now.

The specialists explain this situation by the persistently growing demand for Pekinese cabbage in the retail chains and also by the gradual reduction of this product supplies on market (in its turn, the seasonal factor leads to the reduced supply).

The specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal inform that many producers will significantly increase the cultivation areas for Pekinese cabbage this season, according to the data provided by the market players. Some producers will grow this crop for the first time. The constantly growing demand for Pekinese cabbage, known for its great taste and quality, encourages producers to make this step.
