Supply growth of early white cabbage makes the prices decline

According to the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, the supply of early white cabbage is constantly growing on market. As a result, the price for this product is dropping. This situation is observed in practically all regions of Ukraine; as before, the farms of Zakarpattya oblast and Southern regions are the main cabbage suppliers on market.

The weekly journal provided the data that the price for newly harvested cabbage has declined almost 100% during a week. In the end of the previous week the major volumes were sold for $2.6-3.6/kg. To support the sales rates, today the resellers have to decrease the prices down to $1.2-1.8/kg. The market players think that the further price drop is unavoidable: the thing is, the supply of radish, greenhouse tomatoes and cucumber is steadily growing on market. Also, the first supplies of early carrot shipments were recorded early this week in Kherson oblast; the sales price for this product varies $2.8 to 3.2/kg.
